First Week of Practice

We have completed our first week of practices which we feel went very well.  We have a great team going this year and are really excited about the upcoming season.  We just wanted to remind everyone to please send in your paperwork along with the fees required as soon as possible.  I will be submitting the order for the required Our Lady of Lourdes Uniform which is the t-shirt, socks and jacket this Wednesday so please make sure that the order form paper is submitted to me on Monday.

For the upcoming week, we will be practicing on Monday and that is it for this week.  Due to spike the teachers and the holiday we will not be meeting the remainder of the week.

Beginning in December, we will be having meets with Arlington High School's fencing team on Wednesday afternoons after school.  We have been in touch with Arlington's Athletic Director and will let everyone know a schedule as soon as we have one available.

We would also like to remind everyone that even though we are meeting through the week at school, we will also still be attending classes on Saturday's at Peekskill fencing center.  These are free classes available to our team and is a great opportunity to work on skill, get some one on one training and also the ability to fence other fencers to see different competition.  If you are interested we do put carpools together so please contact me and we will work that out.  Also, during the Christmas break we would like to do some team training at the Fencing Center to prepare for our super Saturday tournaments which begin in January.

Again, we look forward to a successful season, we wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and we will see you all on Monday.

Thank you,

Shannon Gauzza and Alex Acevedo

Welcome to the 2014 Fencing Season

Welcome to the 2014 season.  In preparation for the upcoming season the team will be getting together on Saturday at Peekskill Fencing Center to attend classes and training from 11:30 - 2:30.  This is a great opportunity especially for new fencers to learn the basics of fencing and for the more experienced members of the team it is a great opportunity to refresh your skills.
There is no cost for the team to attend these classes and if any members are in need of a ride please let me know.  Many members of the team have been fencing all summer at the Peekskill Fencing Center and it is a great opportunity for the team to bond.
Please email back to let me know if you can or cannot attend (at sgauzza@gmail.com)  Also we are scheduled to begin regular season practices on November 17th at that time a schedule of Super Saturday tournaments will be handed out and any questions you may have can be addressed.
We look forward to a very successful upcoming season.
Thank You,

Shannon Gauzza
