Eligibility to attend the Varsity Dinner is contingent upon full payment of sports fees. There is no reserved seating. Student athletes must have a PAID reservation. 

FENCING DINNER WEDNESDAY 4/20

 

Just sending a reminder regarding our Wednesday, 4/20, Fencing Dinner at Cappucino's on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie  beginning at 6:00. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

 

Also, reminder for any seniors who had borrowed equipment please be sure to return your gear you may put it in the cage at school.

 

We will continue fencing on Saturday's at Peekskill fencing in the off season please try to attend these classes to keep up on your skills for next season.

Fencing Dinner RSVP

Our fencing end of season dinner is one week away.  Tomorrow is the deadline to RSVP for the dinner so if you have not done so already please be sure to hand it in tomorrow.  I have enclosed a list of RSVP's I have received, if your name is not on the list and you have turned it into the office please let me know by this evening so I may contact the school.

Fencing Dinner 4/20

Reminder to please turn in your RSVP for our Fencing Dinner, we need to have a final count in by April 13th, if anyone is need of the form please let me know.  The forms and money can be turned into the main office at school and I will pick them up.  Also, any seniors that were using team equipment please wash your gear and return it in the cages at school.  Also for seniors, if I have not received your baby pictures please email them to me as soon as possible.

 

One last thing, for the crazy kids, if you have any songs (reasonable and clean) that you would like us so consider for the end of year video please let me know no later then Friday and we will see if we can work them on.

Fencing Team Receives Accolades from Ministry Committee

March 18, 2016

Holy Trinity’s Caring Ministry Committee expressed their thanks to the Lourdes Fencing team for their participation in the parish’s food drive conducted at Stop and Shop on March 13th.

In a letter sent to the school, Linda St. Martin, a member of this committee remarked, “The food drive was a huge success and upon learning that we provide the children who visit our food pantry with a coloring book and crayons, each member of the Fencing Team purchased coloring books and crayons on their own and included them as part of this drive.”  Ms. St. Martin went on to state, “We applaud both you and these young adults for their caring and generosity which enables us to continue to assist families in need in our community.”

We are very proud of these students!

COMMUNITY SERVICE FOOD DRIVE 3/13/16

 

REMINDER SUNDAY, 3/13/16 is our community service food drive.  We will be at Stop and Shop on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls next to BJ's from 10:00 - 2:00.  Please arrive a little before 10:00 so we can get set up and started right away.  Also please wear your team t-shirt and blue and white fencing jacket so customers can identify team members.

 

Also reminder to please send in your RSVP for our team dinner which will be held in April.  You may bring them tomorrow if you will like I will collect them or drop them off in the main office at the school.

 

SENIORS I need your baby pictures, please get them to me as soon as possible so that we can work on our end of season video.  Also, any graduating seniors who had equipment borrowed from the school please make sure that you wash your gear and return it in the cage at school.

SUNDAY 3/13/16 FOOD DRIVE

 

Just a reminder that this coming Sunday is our food drive.  All donations will be donated this year to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry in Poughkeepsie.  I have received a list of their needs as they will be providing more then a 100 families with Easter dinner.

 

Attached you will see the list that was provided to us and that we will be handing out to customers at Stop and Shop in Wappingers Falls.  You will also see that at the top, the food pantry also provides children of these families with coloring books, story books and crayons to help them.  I thought it would be great if each member of the team could donate one or more of these items on Sunday to go with the donations we collect.  Many stores carry coloring books for $1.00.

 

Please remember that this is a MANDATORY service project required by all Varsity teams we will be collecting food from 10:00 - 2:00 on March 13th, at the Stop and Shop in Wappingers by BJ's.  Please remember to wear your team t-shirt and your blue and white team jacket to identify our organization.

 

Also, please remember to hand in your RSVP for the fencing dinner, they can be turned into the office at school or I will also be collecting them on Sunday if anyone wishes to bring them to the food drive.

Last Practice/Annual Service Project/Team Dinner

Today we had our last official practice of the season, we had a great season with a great group of kids.  Please remember that we will continue our season at Peekskill Fencing on Saturday's from 11:30-2:30.

 

Please remember that our annual service project is coming up on Sunday March 13th from 10:00 - 2:00 at Stop and Shop on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. This is a mandatory service project and if you are in need of honor society hours please bring the form with you to be signed.  Also, if any parents are available at 2:00 to help transport the collected food to Holy Trinity Food Pantry in Poughkeepsie please let me know.

 

Also, our annual Team Dinner will be held on Wednesday April 20th at Cappucino's on Route 9 by IBM in Poughkeepsie.  Please be sure to return the RSVP form and money ASAP. I am attaching a copy of the form if anyone needs it.

 

For all my seniors, it is that time when I need your baby pictures.  Please be sure to send them in to school in a sealed envelope with your name on it and give them to Andrew.  

 

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone for a great season, we could not have done it without everyone's support.

Last Meet of the Season - Storm King School - 2/26/16

 

Reminder there is no practice on Thursday after school, we have our last meet of the season against Storm King School on Friday at 4:00.  Thank you to all those who have volunteered to drive on Friday.  I will not be able to attend the meet and Alex will be meeting everyone at Storm King.  Please be ready with your gear and in the lower parking Lot by 2:45. I will meet everyone there to be sure everyone is ready.

 

For those who are driving the address to Storm King School is 314 Mountain Road, Cornwall on Hudson NY 12520.

 

To all fencers, please let me know on Thursday if you are planning on attending so we know how many fencers to expect on Friday.  You can either email me at sgauzza@gmail.com or text me on my cell phone at (845) 721-2761.

 

Also, everyone should have received the email with the RSVP for the Annual dinner please try to return it ASAP so we can plan accordingly.

 

Lastly, reminder there will be fencing at Peekskill fencing center on Saturday beginning at 11:30, please take advantage of these classes they are free to our team and is a great opportunity to fence other fencers outside of our team.

Storm King School Meet 2/26 and Fencing Dinner 4/20

A few things going on I talked to the kids at practice today about, first we will only have practice Monday and Tuesday this week there will be no end of the week practice.  Friday we have our re-scheduled meet against Storm King School at Storm King.  There will be no busing for this meet so if there are any parents that would be able to help with car pooling that would be great if you could email me and let me know.  The meet will begin at 4:00 so we would have to meet at school by 3:00.

 

Also I have attached the RSVP form for our annual end of the season dinner which will be held on Wednesday April 20th at 6:00pm at Cappucino's on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie.  It has become a tradition to hold our dinner at this restaurant it is a fun night to review our season and just be together.

 

Lastly, please remember that we have our mandatory service project coming up in a few weeks on Sunday March 13th from 10:00-2:00 at Stop and Shop on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls.  This again is mandatory for all team members, as a varsity team we are required to complete a service project.

PRACTICE THURSDAY 2/18/16

 

Just a reminder that practice will be tomorrow THURSDAY FEBRUARY 18th we will not be having practice this Friday.  Also our make up meet against Storm King School is set for Friday February 26th at 4:00.  I am not sure if we will have busing available for that meet I will let everyone know as soon as I find out from the athletic department.  Also please keep in mind our mandatory service project will again be our food drive which will be held on Sunday March 13th from 10:00-2:00 at Stop and Shop in Wappingers Falls.

 

We are also working on setting the date and getting the details regarding our end of season team dinner so as that becomes available we will also forward that to you as well.
